Consistently ranked as one of the premier ski destinations in the world by major magazines, RED Mountain Resort still somehow remains the last great, undiscovered gem of its kind in North America. Savvy travellers from around the globe visit as much for our deep powder snow as for the spirit of the historic town at the bottom of the hill: Rossland, B.C. The slopes are uncrowded, the people are unpretentious and we love to share our unique mountain environment.

Unlike many resorts, RED is unfettered by overdevelopment. With a constant eye toward preserving what makes our area special, i.e. what makes RED an “endangered species” among high-end ski resorts, we develop all of our real estate offerings with the same care and control. This is a place where you can still escape into the natural surroundings unmolested. A home here, on the world-famous “Powder Highway,” means having a backyard you can truly brag about!

We sincerely believe that we offer the single finest value proposition in the West and it would be our pleasure to show you something that suits your needs, goals and lifestyle.

EXPERIENCE

RED offers a pure and inspiring mountain experience that is, above all, authentic: RED was founded by Scandinavian miners during the Gold Rush and is Western Canada’s oldest ski resort. With a keen sense of history and an appreciation for the preservation of the natural environment, we offer an experience that is far from the staid and stuffy getaway many ski families now unfortunately expect from many of our larger competitors.

And, with accolades from The New York Times, Forbes Traveller, Ski magazine, National Geographic Adventure, Toronto Sun, Bike, and Explore – you don’t have to take our word for it: RED Mountain and Rossland offer an unmatched outdoor playground and world class four-season activities.

Winter

  • Downhill skiing & snowboarding – 1,685 skiable acres & 2,919 feet of vertical terrain. You won’t find better gladed tree skiing or more consistent long, fall-line vertical anywhere… We even have a terrain park.

  • Snowsports School for kids. Camps and clinics for everyone, regardless of ability.

ROSSLAND & COMMUNITY

Live At RedRossland, British Columbia, RED Mountain’s host community, is a storied mining town built during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As Rossland boomed with the Gold Rush, it became one of western Canada’s largest cities for a time, a fact evident in the historic buildings now occupied by thriving local businesses. The town has two schools, a library, and is considered “Canada’s Mountain Bike Capital.” It is also world-renowned for RED Mountain Resort and its scene as the quintessential ski town in the winter.

Located at an elevation of 1023 metres (3410 feet), Rossland lies high in the Monashee Mountains in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. Within driving distance are Spokane International Airport (GEG), Kelowna International Airport (YLW), and the smaller regional airports of Castlegar (YCG) and Trail (YZZ).

The town continues to be the epicentre of cultural activities in the area such as the Rossland Mountain Film Festival and the Winter Carnival. The superlative lifestyle here attracts artists, gourmet restauranteurs and other top talent, allowing the community a broad cultural base by which it can support itself.

In short: If you thought all ski towns were the same, we’re guessing you’ve never been to Rossland…
